Biking the Meseta, day 2

Nothing like a row of trees.

Day 17, Boadilla del Camino to Sahagún

Yesterday was a shock. It wasn’t like biking around Geenlake 25 times (we rode 61km.) Much of the day was hard core mountain biking and it required a fair bit of skill, skill I learned yesterday.

If yesterday was a bucking bronco, and it was, then today was My Little Pony, complete with rainbow tail. The hardest parts today were those first few moments getting on the bike, but more challenging, those first few getting off.

I had some soft cushy Söx that so far seemed worthless. Today they became trek worthy when I followed the Non-conformist Appendage Adaptation Creed™ and turned them into my Døwñ Ünder Prôteçtôrs™. Glad I had my skort to conceal their bulk as they definitely added a certain male nuance to today’s ensemble. Some guy actually made a pass at me in his van. I should have whipped up my skirt and given him a little “Crying Game” shock.

See below for photos and descriptions of the day.

It’s going to be okay, it’s going to be okay . . .

Theresa-elliott-Half-circle-bridge.jpg

It was okay. Small, cool, half circle bridges not meant for bikes. But still cool.

Beautiful angle of a church in the morning light.

Different church, more beauty.

Kinda thinking this is the entrance to the water slide?

Theresa-Elliott-What-Pavement-looks-like.jpg

This is pavement, and it’s an awesome, reliable surface to bike on, as can be seen by my on-bike photography.

The scotch broom was on full bloom and quite fragrant.

Two pilgrims with their sleeping rolls visible on their backpacks.
