Wrist Accoutrements
Camino styling.
Day 4, Zubiri to Pamplona
Minimum pilgrim wrist accoutrements: a fit bit, a leather bangle with shell insignia, and a rubber thingy with pithy, profound statement. For greater impact, possibly add the splint from the right wrist to increase the mystique factor, and then all I need to finish off my signature, camino influencer-look is a pop of color from several macrame bracelets with bobbles, preferably multi-colored.
Today’s story is told in pictures as we make our way to the great city of Pamplona. See below for photos with captions.

Charming deliver of newspaper and the day’s baguette.
Beautiful mowed fields.
Days consist of at least two breakfasts. 1st, coffee, orange juice and pastry/toast served in the alburge. 2nd, found along the way at a cafe, something more substantial and often in the form of tortilla, the ubiquitous Spanish staple of quiche with eggs and potato or bacon.
It’s common to talk along highways or major arterials.
I’m constantly intrigued by the color of buildings and the doors into them.
Bridge on the outskirts of Pamplona
The ancient walls surrounding Pamplona are a stunning edifice to man’s fear. Not saying it wasn’t justified. To give a perspective as to how high the city wall is, I walked out and am standing in front of it. Can you find me?
Side view, taken by Sandy
Totally tubular alburge, and one of my favorites. Individual pods make the hallway and a great shot for Sandy’s feet.
Sandy working in his bunk. Note he can sit up.
Inside, a version of the always favorite “feet and pool, sorry your not here but not really” shot.
Simple yet effective way to create privacy; blinds. The metal slats are the ladders for the bunk beds.
